Welcome

Hopefully you found this blog at a time that is when you need it the most and I can be of some solace, help, and peace for you. I recently watched Postpartum Nightmares on Discovery Health and it stopped me in my tracks. I relived my own problems with postpartum depression with both of my daughters while watching the show and realized how many women out there need help, how many women don't know what is wrong with them, think they are abnormal or losing their minds, and don't know where to turn to for help. Please know you are not alone, people do care, and you will eventually have an amazing, happy relationship with your child. It may take a lot of hard work and time but you can do it, just as I did, and enjoy life with your baby.

My story is long. I will share it in the future in another post but right now I'll tell you a little about myself. My name is Amy. I'm a midwest mom of two daughters. Amaya is 5 and Kaia is 3. I have an Associates degree in health information technology and am studying to finish my Bachelor's in health information management with the hopes of getting an MBA or law degree. I enjoy the business end of healthcare. I've been blessed to be able to work at home with both children and stay home with both of them as I work in the field of medical transcription. I like a lot of the same things you do, music, writing, reading, movies, and my career. I'm divorced (and actually the PPD contributed to this and I'll discuss that in my blog, too) and have a rough relationship with my ex-husband and his new fiance. I was raised by my grandparents and am of American Indian heritage and take a special interest in my culture.

I hope you find this blog helpful, insightful, and if I can even reach out and help one woman, I will feel like this blog was meant to be.

Stay safe and know there is light at the end of the tunnel!
~Amy
